Oh man. I remember watching a promo awhile back and one of the questions was like, "Do you hate fat people?"
And me going, "I'd love to be on this show this seems easy."
I can't watch this shit, that was absolutely horrific. It was like watching a train wreck.
Which begs the question, what is the difference between this show and like Jerry Springer? I always wondered why people ever went on that show because it must be something bad if Maury Povich wants to ask you a question.
But this?
Holy shit. This is primetime television for Christ's sake, hahahah.

Forgot to mention: the contestants take a lie-detector test before they appear on the show. The show will obviously use the most controversial questions and answers on the show, and the contestants have to know this. Therefore, the contestants are extremely selfish and greedy. They are also looking for their 15 minutes of fame.
While lie detector tests are not always accurate, you can sometimes tell when a person is telling the truth. Some people convince themselves of a certain "truth".

I remember after being grilled at a police station for three hours, and then having my place searched (well ... room at college) a detective asking me if I'd take a lie detector.
I said, "No, those don't hold up in court."
I might as well have said, "Yea, I killed him and you'll never find the body."
... Well on second thought that is what I was saying.
I kid, I kid. But the cop sure acted like that's what I said for knowing how the American Court System works.

I never watched "The Jenny Jones Show" (i don't watch many talk shows, believe it or not), but this is one of the most controversial things that occurred on it:
"On March 6, 1995, Jenny Jones taped a episode called "Same Sex Secret Crushes," where it was on that program that Scott Amedure, a gay man, confessed to his best friend Jonathan Schmitz, that he had a crush on him. The response from Schmitz was mostly humorous as he laughed about that revelation in front of the audience. However 3 days after the shows' taping Schmitz, upset over that incident, killed Amedure. The producers decided not to air the show after the murder made headlines. However, the episode did air on Court TV when the network was covering the trial. Clips of the episode were also featured in the HBO documentary, Talked to Death.
That incident, and the revelation that Schmitz had a history of mental illness and alcohol/drug abuse would come out in a trial, where Schmitz would be convicted of second degree murder. He is currently serving a 25-50 year prison term.
Jones and the producers would later be sued by Amedure's family for neglecting to finding out Schmitz's history of mental illness and substance abuse. Jones testified under oath that the producers told Schmitz that his admirer could be a man, but Schmitz thought that the admirer was a woman. Jones also admitted that the show didn't want Schmitz to know the outcome of his secret crush. Amedure's family would win the ruling and the show was ordered to pay $25 million, but that decision would later be overturned by the Michigan appellate court because the producers were not responsible for what happened to the guests after their appearance on the show. The Michigan Supreme Court would not hear the case and it is believed to be due to bias."
They stopped making episodes like that after, but I know other shows do this. And that's why I think "Moment of Truth" will end up in some horrible murder...
