you could tell you were from UK within 2 seconds of seeing the page.
how?
exact same minimalist barebones side-bar layout that a thousand other people have done. exact same boring style of design which requires absolutely zero real technique or skill. any schmuck who's ever realized things look clean when layed across a grid could make anything in your portfolio.
whats that? oh, you present websites inside a shot of a macbook. how feverishly original.

Concrete, my only real concern here is the potential for misrepresentation of a client base - just by checking some of those URLs it becomes evident that some of the pieces are self-led, when they're not stated as such. I can appreciate the catch-22-ness of the situation, and I'd like to think that any potential employer would see through that and just appreciate the quality of your work - but, I personally, would question why I was not being told up front.

i really like G&G monogram - such as many others. v nice work.
just think that about "Rothko"... isn't it better not being there at all than having people bumping into a "Coming Soon" - it really breaks the consistency of the portfolio - maybe it's better to have a news sections for upcoming work?
just my thoughts.

really nice, maybe remove the Rothko link for now until its got something on there to show?

Also, you mentioned you'd made some of the font sets for your work, right? State that somewhere, even if it's not wholly accurate (I mean, if you didn't do a full character set or whatever).

I really like the Parenta stuff - is that "real world"? I kind of assumed so cos of the memory stick thing (which is ace).
If I was hiring, to be honest, I think that's the one that would impress me most; it looks the best marriage of your graphic style and a corporate brief. nice one.

Thanks, Kelpie. Yes that is real world. That polystyrene 'plus' is the base of a glass-top coffee table. Parenta is the company I worked at in-house for 3yrs, only to be made redundant once I had given them an actual identity. Bastards!
