So at work we're still on working on Tiger (we just discovered fire as well) but we're on CS3 for Adobe and we want to upgrade to Leopard. How does Leopard handle all your Adobe stuff, particularly Acrobat and Reader? I've heard both yes and no. Any other issues with design software stuff?

I haven't had too many problems it does how ever like to corrupt my icons on the dock when I have photoshop open, and sleep mode and photoshop don't get along that well.

Well sleep is pretty much a non-issue for me at work but corrupt icons are no fun. Any other issues?
- They just disappear well half of the icons do they still work but it just looks ugly till you rebootJKilla77

Ha! I just installed it about 10 min. ago.. all I've had a chance to do is upgrade my font management system (which I had to). I am seeing some unreadable fonts that I'm going to have to get to the bottom of but I think that is Suitcase Fusion for ya not the OS upgrade. I'll let you know how my voyage goes.
- Sweet. Thanks SoupCan.CincodeMayo
- I got rid of suitcase when I upgraded. Just use font xplorermrseaves
- I'll check it out cause I am no way married to Suitcase.SoupCan

oh and bubbles blow out of the Disk tray when I open it... I think I can live with that for a while though.

Alright so my Jr.s have upgraded with me and they are starting to see a couple problems and I only know because there is some Viking language coming from their offices. I'll fill ya in once I check it out but I might just let them cry for a little while. Other than that everything went really smooth on my end nothing so far.

Yeah, Tiger is fine, but there's just a ton of new Leopard features that'd help the day go by a little quicker.

How about Quark?
I've got the upgrade DVD in my hand, about to make the jump... anyone got any hideous stories about Quark not working before I do?

the only problems I had with adobe when I moved to Leopard was the print to pdf feature was not working, but it has been fixed with the 10.5.2 update. everything fine now.
There's the Helvetica issue too but it's manageable. I recommend doin a clean install over the upgrade though. It's a very different system with many incompatibilities with old apps and stuff. Clean install is the way to go.

in photoshop my toolbar dialogue boxes don't work sometimes, usually when I'm on a deadline, due to a problem with Leopard. Its fucking so infuriating I could happily kill Steve Jobs, even more than usual

Only front window updated, such a classic. They will run the old inner layout for ages.

Had to reinstall CS3 products when I went to Leopard, it works a lot better that way.

Leopard is good, but there are minor issues that come up every once in a while. It varies for each user and the issues depend on what programs you are using. So it should be fine, but no guarantees (like I would usually say with Tiger).

My machine just got considerably slow after I installed Leopard and CS3. Don't know which caused it, but it's driving me mad getting that beach ball after I click on shit.

For a problem free upgrade:
1) Repair permissions.
2) Install upgrade.
3) Repair permissions again.
