She was held in custody for 8 weeks before officials accepted proof from her doctor of its use for prescribed medical purposes only.Now thats fucked up. Imprisoned for 8 weeks for taking medicine to relieve back pain? a little over-zealous me thinks.

A few years ago i was coming back from india. I'd been smoking great big elephant loads of hash and opium out there. Really fucking sticky shit.
I had this slab of sticky gooey hash stuck to my keys in my pocket - about an eigth's worth - and i didn't even know it! Just sitting there on my keys in my pocket.
I was transitting from Dubai. My plane had to be cancelled so i was put up in the Airport hotel - which meant i had to go through customs two extra times.
I went through Dubai customs 3 times in total. Got patted down and searched. And even when i took my bunch of keys out and put them in the tray for the scanner - me nor anybody else noticed the stick of hash on there.
In fact, it wasn't until i got back to my home in London, and i took the keys out to open my front door that is realised i'd carried that with me. At the time it was a pleasant surprise, but now that i think about it - it's like shit, that cudda all gone a bit pete tong!

Also, last autumn i spent just over a month in Dubai. Fucking awesome place. It's like Blade Runner on acid. Drugs, alcohol, russian whores everywhere ;). It's slightly evil in a corporate megalopolis sorta way, but that's what makes it so fun and decadent!
You should all go.

Not a chance. I've got a little girl who I wish to see grow up for any particular four year period of her life. I'm not risking imprisonment for four years becuase I walked over a crumb from someone's spliff on the Gatwick Express. Its just ridiculous. I'm actually worried about any destinations that might get diverted to Dubai in an emergency and contemplating not going to them any more either!
And I'm going to burn my clothes and become a fugitive, living off the land and avoiding direct eye contact.

It was a joint as I understand it and it's his own fault, shame the sentence is such a long time though as it's a relatively minor crime but a crime none the less.
It's a very difficult thing to judge as both views are equally debatable, he took sess crops with im therefore jail or he only took a wee bit of sess crops with him no jail.Part of my family is in Oman which is close to dubai (my geog. is bad though) and I may take a visit there one time, I have no fear atall of going there studio spooky.
