So how are all of you freelancers finding work these days other than word of mouth? Have a few consistent clients but looking to take on some more work and wondering what's the best way?
Thanks in advance!

You've got to go hunt for work.
This series of articles was helpful to me:

Seriously though, start buy getting your name in at all the agencies in your city. If they like your stuff and they need to contract out, you'll be roll'n in it.

Hey Joseph, nice work. Try buying some list from Adbase in your region. Cost a couple hundred of dollars but will give you the names, email, phone number, address of all design and ad agencies by region along with the Creative & Art Directors information. Then create a sexy Rich Email with your pitch, good luck.

put together a good portfolio and find studios with work that is of equal or lesser quality to that of your own. Also hunt for direct clients by finding companies with shitty websites that could use a remake.

Hey thanks a ton for all the feedback! I'm in a touch situation where I am currently back in school doing 3D animation and trying to freelance on the side, so balancing it carefully is really proving to be tough. That said I don't want to go to crazy trying to get a ton of responses just to turn them down, and hence turn them off from my services. I will def take these responses into consideration though. Thanks again!
