1) keep a version of stuff pre-client-muckup because they will destroy it after they get their hands on it
2) if they didnt destroy it, then uh, ouch
3) they paid you, move on- agreed! happens almost 100% of the time in my experience********

this has got to be the most depressing thread i have ever read.

Bump, great thread this is indeed.

Has anyone heard from geralddean, he should be on suicide watch after this thread.

Funny thing is, there's some OK work in the portfolio, and the portfolio site itself shows some skills. Some typography leaves a bit to be desired, but frankly this site just looks out of place anyways and horribly dated next to the other work.

Navigation error.
If the user is on the main page http://www.geralddean.com/The links included in the main nav are:
1. projects
2. services
3. clients
4. news
5. contactIf the user clicks on the #5 contact link from that page, the nav changes.

@ all.
I don't know if you can tell, I'm more of a coder than a designer.
and though little known, I'm an even better illustrator than either of the former.I actually work professionally in IT and don't care so much about the portfolio getting me larger clients. Most of the work is there because I have been payed for it and its liked by someone.
The point is, people who contact me to do projects like the work enough to pay me. The subjective opinions of those here matter less to me in that regard.
I agree with MG33 that it should probably be taken out of my portfolio as it doesn't match.
and 404 thanks for noticing the nav error. I'm in the process of a "redesign" if you will, and this should be corrected.

Thanks for the response.
Do you or anyone else have a link to an example of the expanding menu for your navigation? I've meant to figure those out at some point.

To be honest the last thing I would be worried about is that your design had been ripped! Even if I was, it's not your design that's been ripped, it's your coding, I could write my own css and come up with what you have.. thank god I haven't though

contact the guy who ripped you and say you're going to tell the client that you're going to sue unless he gives you a chunk of the contract. This is as good as you should do because nobody should be making money off of this pitiful design.
