I said I thought Second Life was shit, after stating that I actually wanted to like the place. That's it. That's all.
At least ostensibly, anyhow - personally, I think this guy's the same as Trolling McTrollsworth who's been heading the Anthony_Turner crusade. If I'm wrong, I apologise.

I think a place like QBN needs new people to come along, and 0lds need to be patient when n00bs appear. This isn't a situation where you can make your presence known simply by being here, you have to put yourself down in words, so n00bs - and I include myself obviously - have a need to speak long enough and loud enough to gain the sense of a foothold.... usually signalled by someone telling the n00b to please shut the fuck up sometime soon.
On the flipside, the irrascible nature of this place does actually inspire rampant unchecked verbal diahorrea and I can testify to this. If you come along here and make a few posts and they are met with derision and, frequently, insulting comments, it creates a sense of having to fight back or slink away forever. Its the classic new boy in the playground scenario. In a text only environment, the only way to address this sense of being smacked down is with words... lots and lots of words. So I think the moral to the story is, don't smack n00bs *quite* so hard quite so quickly and maybe they wont get wound up enough to start splattering banality all over every thread.
