toronto + culture = oxymoron
explain.
- czawada0
Toronto has plenty of culture unlike Vancouver which has virtually none.
People move to Vancouver for it's close proximity to nature and it's laid back vibe. People don't move here for culture or a world class city as the actual city of Vancouver kinda sucks.

yes. i lived in toronto for 2 years. its like the waiting room at a doctors office. sterile, with a few posters of butterflies & sunshine to make things seem happier.
- Jaline0
I totally disagree (I have lived there too and I visit every few months).
- vague0
i have never seen one original idea there, ever. and every time another french-canadian rapper decides to root himself in Toronto, another nail hits the coffin.
- OK, you just proved you know nothing about Toronto.czawada
- prove it.vague
- The city isn't full of French Canadian rappers for one. And when you reply back that it is please back it up with examples.czawada
- examples.czawada
- i meant french-rappers ROOTING themselves into toronto. re-locating.vague
- Right, and your examples are? I'm still waiting.czawada
- You know he's furiously googling right now.bort

Vancouver is a beautiful city, has some of the best outdoor recreation and an awesome selection of bars/restaurants. There is a great music/art scene as well. The design/creative community is booming, no shortage of great little shops. The only downfall is the homeless population which is quite large. To be fair though I've never not felt safe in the city, even in the most sketchy area's.

" have never seen one original idea there, ever. and every time another french-canadian rapper decides to root himself in Toronto, another nail hits the coffin."
That's your evidence Toronto has no culture?
As strong as that argument is, you're going to have to try a bit harder to convince me. I lived there for 27 years and if you can't find things to do in TO, you're certainly not going to find any other Canadian city more exciting.

I couldn't agree more bort.

I was in Vancouver for 2 days a few years back and I really liked it. A city by the water gets points automatically, but it's also got a nice mix of city/mountains/beaches/culture. Basically reiterating what everyone else said!

I will admit, I mainly want to visit Vancouver because everyone films there. But I bet you don't see it that much, or it's all a delusion or something...
- Oh, and for the Olympics, which I love watching. Not sure about the crowds though.Jaline
- You need to go to Burnaby where all the studios are.czawada
- thanks for the info...Jaline
- Or gastown. There have been about 6 big movies shot down here in the past 4 months.Melanie
- You see stuff from time to time. The L word shot in my buddy's office, a bus I took went past the filming of fantastic four.JKilla77
- funny, I was mainly thinking of "The L Word" when I posted this. Nice :)Jaline

i find it amusing that you can get so bitter over me thinking toronto is stale, bland, and a poor mimicry of better things elsewhere. and yes, montreal is very nice. now stop blubbering like a freaking baby.
- bort0
Nobody is bitter. We're simply contesting what is very obviously an ignorant statement. I think you talk out your ass a lot. Now you're getting defensive because people called you out and you have no legitimate response.
- bort0
Oh, and we're still waiting on your french-canadian rappers turned shit via Toronto examples...
- madirish0
i will be in the lovely city of van-cow-ver in the spring. just sayin'....

What are you coming here for Matt?
