I dont actually, I much rather see a live electronic act than someone selecting tracks for me. But as a musician I can care less about the technique in DJing (unless is turntablism) it all comes down to if I like the tracks being played or not.
You can be the best Dj on this planet but if you play crap I'm going to leave, or the opposite you can be learning how to mix, but if your track selection is good, I will stick around and enjoy another cold new castle ;)

I used to write "SUPER GREG" all over Pittsburgh back in the day, haha.

Some of my best friends are DJs.
- Can you name a person that doesn't know a Dj?Meeklo
- It's a Kid Koala album title, haha.flavorful
- can you name a person that isn't a dj?Randd
- Peter Hook?
hahahaMeeklo - I'm no DJ, I'm just a guy who puts on "Grindin" by the Clipse whenever my friends mistakenly...flavorful
- ... leave their tables unguarded while they take a break.flavorful

he looks like a used car salesman from North Jersey. Maybe the song "I'm drunk and I'm high" is actually playing in his head.
Here's my attempt at djing

I watched these and am incredibly embarassed :/ like that time I went to see DJ yoda I didn't see him change a single record and he played fucking dolly parton working 9-5 every guy there left the dance floor and pretty much didn't return. Apparently his fader knob thingy EQ nonsense makes drum beats ha ha as he is kicking his leg up.
- I would throw a beer bottle at the dj if he played dolly partonsection_014
- That's what Yoda is all about, taking strange/shit songs and putting them in the mix...thats his whole thing!
2manydjs do the same thing and they're one of the biggest acts in the world.... it shows you ignorance if you went to see Yoda and didn't expect that... half the people on here don't have a cluejohnnyrebs

I disagree with the previous statement.
May I correct it?
You say: " people make music but it's DJs who get it out to people"
I say: "Musicians make music, Djs get a name for themselves playing their tracks, without musicians the Dj does not exist."We don't need a dj to hear music, the dj is like the middle man, which is the same spot that a friend, a relative, or any stranger on the street that has recommended me to check out a band has.
Yes there is talent, and there is lack of it going around, but like I said again, I will stick around and listen ONLY if the DJ plays the music I like to hear. Wouldn't you?
- How would that friend find out without a DJ playing it? You sound so arrogantjohnnyrebs
- and of course you only stick around to hear the music you want. You wouldn't go see a band you don't like would youjohnnyrebs

bollocks meekio
DJ's mix tunes add tunes on top take inspiration from music they have heard and create a completely different tune from that they also create their own beats and synth loops and weird sound effects to splash all over they tracks they are mixing with, a DJ does not just change records a DJ fuses different tunes and creates tunes in order for his or her fusion to work.
When designing a logo and 'tweeking' an existing font to the way you want it to be any different?...
Oh and by the way meekio things have moved on significantly since baleros roller disco mate.
- I was talking about the straight DJ that just plays records. Not the ones that produce. Thats a different storyMeeklo
- Yes but you need to understand that there's a place for everything....just because someone doesn't produce music doesn't mean that they're totally invalid
DaveO - I do understand, I just don't agree w a guy selecting tracks on a club is more important than a producerMeeklo
- Thats why I said, there is talent out there, just one msg above, see it? :)Meeklo

I like New Order more than I like Joy Division. I'm not into the slow, depressing music as much as I like the "poppy", dance music.
