Hello hello.
My site http://www.craigatkinson.co.uk.
Question. Should I leave the menu as css text on the left or should I just use the bold headings on the left and have a thumbnail menu in the main frame instead, each thumbnail opening within the same frame with a 'back' link to the thumbnail menu? I appreciate your thoughts.

Yeah me too, was just thinkgin they are a bit sprawling and might be tidier with fewer links or favicon size thumbnails / numbers in the left menu?
