Just an idea for a poster to promote a series of talks at Manchester Mets University. Using grey pantone chips to create a poster promoting a talk by Manchester based designers.
The text at the bottom says: Rule 01. Dispel the myth that it's alwasy dull and grey in Manchester.
Many students up sticks when they graduate down to London. When there's plenty of good agencies in the North West. If only it didn't bloody rain all the time! ;)

i think the Rule 01 concept is nice, but way to small. i don't know if that's going to translate like you want it to.
- you're right i guess. it's just a quick concept. would need much more work...cheersdavesedgwick

already posted my comments on the other thread but on a sidenote, my former course director commutes from manchester to london about 4 times a week to teach. says something about how he feels, no?

possible menos...possibly. it just always annoys me when people on the telly always go on about how it's raining in manchester again! as if it never rains anywhere else and in actual fact, there are plenty of other places in this country that get much more rain than manchester!

Love the idea and execution, I'd perhaps consider swapping the "get your first job" strapline with the rule 01 text. Might just tie in the pantone refs with the concept a little more?
nice work though. I was out in Manchester last night and it wasn't raining, it was windy as fuck with loads of litter flying all the place though. Nice.

oh but i meant it in a good way for Manc. I mean the guy rather commute this much than live in London. He prefers Manc.

me too menos, i like london, great place to go down for a few days, visit friends etc. but i have to say i prefer being up here. it's everything i need anyway in a slighty smaller space! always wonder why so many students come to manchester to study though and then shoot down south at the first oportunity, the streets aren't paved with gold, they're paved with chewing gum and dog shit like the rest of the streets!

Had a bit of an idea of how it could work better. Imagine it on a billboard, the one where they change every few seconds. It could change from all the grey pantone swatches, to colourful ones, but with the same text. could be a good campaign for design students?

Is that a Manchester registered Trademark?

nah...just relicated pantone.
