My Laptop is dead - can I claim a new one on my House insurance even if I don't have the receipt?

If you have it listed in your insurance - yes. When I put mine on though they made me take out a seperate "personal articles policy" for it.

Isn't it a bad idea to use your house insurance for small claims anyway. I'm not sure a laptop dying would warrant a claim. It's not like it was stolen or damaged in a fire. Call them and let us know.
