Hello All
I've recently updated my website with some new work. I'm not a web designer and have pretty much had to learn this from scratch, so my apologies for anything that is badly, or worse still wrongly done...
Any thoughts?

Your site does the job and your work is pretty darn good, so I wouldn't worry too much.
My comments..
- As an ex-webnik, I want to slap you for using +200kb images. Are they as filesize-reduced as possible?- Personally, I'd include the 'info' information on the homepage somewhere, if not, I'd duplicate the info link top and bottom.
- I'd use your green tone a little more. Not much, just a little.
*claps politely*

nice work, I'd say perhaps change the font either in size or the font family as it's a little small and difficult to read and I'd perhaps include a little more detail about each project but there's not much there to really comment on in terms of the site itself, it's just a lot of shots of work which itself is nice so I guess that really sums it up.
Liking the BBC Philharmonic stuff on the first page.

Thanks mate
Probably agree with you about the 'info' section...and the rest really.
You know what it's like though, you just want to get it live!! It's been way too long.
Cheers

Cheers Jamble...i'm not really a web designer, i'm pretty much 100% print and identity stuff, so that's why it's fairly basic. Been having some problems with the fonts, so need to check that. thanks again

Cheers Mark
But it's just an example of some of my work. I'm happy being employed. Just wanted to showcase some print stuff if i ever need to show anyone online. it's been more of a learning curve than anything. Cheers for looking though...Have to go for a curry now (to celebrate the launch! joke!) so thanks for all your comments again.

Your proof that just because someone isn't a 'web designer' does not mean that their self made website has to suck.
Well done, simple, clean, to the point.
If you want to continue to improve it, I would suggest a slightly more intuitive navigation. It took me a minute to find the link to the next page. And I only knew there were 3 pages because of trooper's post.

love the cloud 9 mark

Yes, I was all ready to say awesome, congrats, but the next page button is seriously hidden. It's fine to have it where you do but it should be way more discoverable. Profile feels like it should be accessible from the top of the page. Otherwise, nice job.
- P.S. Take a look at how these guys handle the next page link: http://www.okapistud…ukit
- yes, that's more like it. Although i have kind of replicated that a bit now!davesedgwick

Thanks for all the comments/crits. I'm gonna have a look at it again now and see about certain changes. Not really sure how i can make the navigation better really...but will have a look. cheers again.

don't worry too much about 200kb images. people on dial-up lines should be stabbed in the face with a sharpie and be fed to angry polar bears.

- It's wrong, Janne.
It's just wrong.detritus

i love the work. absolutely brilliant. the web site works well and presents your design work in an elegant manner. my only comment would be about the navigation -- the link to the next page and your profile isn't very obvious. why not make the "page 1 / page 2 / profile" links very obvious right on the top and keep that consistent on all three pages so that the user can go to any page from anywhere on the site. nice work!
- davesedgwick0
Just updated it with new navigation...
I think this works a bit better now. Been an arse to sort for someone with not very much web knowledge! Struggling to figure out why the profile text is just ever so slightly moved in position to the other pages! But i might just have to live with it. Thanks again guys.
Finally, the images load fine on my browser. they are quite big, but it's a fag to go and change them all now. Do you honestly think they'll be okay?

nice work.
your site is pretty much the same as mine, which means it is excellent.

Nothing made me excited, curious or upset that I hadn't thought of it first. That said, nothing made me snicker or feel remotely angry...
Keep up the good work...

All looks good to me. Clean site. Shows off the work, which in itself is pretty good too.
- mines pretty much the same style as yours, even as far as the logos at the bottom of the page! totally by accident. honest!davesedgwick

Considering that you never created a website before, kudos.
Most web designers don't even know how to create a portfolio site for themselves, they usually just use Wordpress or some damn dumbass blog to feature their work. Nice portfolio, Ciao.

Thanks again to neue75_bold (i think!) although i'm a little upset that nothing at all made you curious! Thanks also to jersey and grafiktees, you're comments are appreciated...
