Simple Identity Job

Hi, I have a fairly simple identity job to do. I've not done any pure design since about 2001 and my last small corporate identity was earlier than that.
It will be a logo/logo-type, plus simple stationery layout (LH, BCs, CSs) and probably a small set of intermetweb guidleines.
Question is, what is something like this worth these days?
Any advice?

what's intermetweb guidleines?

It's worth a hell of a lot more than it was in 2001

yes, but sadly the pay is almost the same.

from what other people have said before, you can either charge your usual hourly rate X number of hours or a full package flat price. also state how many versions you will provide and any additional costs for extra revisions etc etc... but i'm just saying this from the top of my head.
- full package as in "ogo/logo-type, plus simple stationery layout (LH, BCs, CSs)"menos

logo starts at 3000,
the rest is paid in an hourly rate, say 700 per day.- Thats about where it was back in the day. Damn, things haven't got better, but I'm glad they don't got no worse!********

Dig through this thread and be none the wiser..
http://www.qbn.com/topics/442890…- that thread was the most complicated thread of this nature! hehehmenos
- I found that quite insightful. It all seems to wobble around the price I had in mind.********

a lot depends on how big the company is that you are working for. 3000 is a good start, particularly for an easy small client. 5-7,000 i think is what some pricing guidelines want you to go for - with regards to the identity work. Stationery, including cards and letterhead would start around 1,500. The guidelines are up in the air, if you're discussing some sort of bible then you have to negotiate that... or you can just kick in a small template for free if they're balking about the other charges (and frankly, when are they not?)
and really, there are no "simple" identity jobs.

our company typically charges between 10k and 30k for ID packages (logo/stationery), but then again there's seven of us, we're not a one-man operation. Now when you introduce guidelines, collateral beyond typical stationery, etc...then it gets even more complex and more $$$.

I've just had a moment of realising I'm going to go back into Corporate Identity for small businesses in a big way this year. Its repeat busines each time they want a brochure, an exhibition stand, a folder, a website... god, why the fuck did I walk away from it all those years ago... its a fucking cash cow. Get me my black poloneck and loafers, I'm BACK IN BUSINESS.
- Thats all I wear: the poloneck and the loafers. Its a look.********

Welcome back spooky, the design world has missed you.

so what you gonna go for in terms of pricing, after all? now i'm curious too.

What type of client is it? Any idea of their size?
I wouldn't charge a small mom&pop shop a full fee. But if they're a $10 million dollar a year company don't give it away. I designed an ID for a consulting company and charged $6800 for logo development and stationery design.

Re Menos Question...
Its a very small commercial interiors/architectural consultancy. A start-up business. They are neighbours of mine in the building that Studiospooky is in. A four man operation who redevelop/refit pub chains and restaraunt chains and some hotel work too.
I think I will keep the logo very simple and do a basic stationery set for £1500.00 and then give them an hourly rate for any other needs. I will probably buy in the stationery print and tweak a nipple on that too as a handling fee. Nipples, handling... ITS GOOD TO BE BACK.
