I have won countless national and international awards worth many millions of dollars. My ambition this year is to give away one million dollars

I had an 'advertising effectiveness' award from IPC back in about 2004 for a Paul Smith seasonal press ad campaign what I wroted all by myselfs. I think I also got a silver D&AD (or nomination/commendation or something) in about 1994 for some hand-drawn type but it may have only been a nomination like I say ... it appeared in the book but I don't know anything about D&AD so don't know if that means it was awarded or just that they were short on things to put in the book at the time. Recently I was awarded the accolade of designing the fourth greatest album sleeve of all time, and that was awarded to me by somebody like a courier company in Hampshire or a CD replication factory in Tipton... something very fantastic like that. That there represents the complete sum total of my personal vocational awardings, or even just vague glimmers of awardings. If anybody has a D&AD annual book from 1994 or 1995, can they maybe have a look and see if I won anything for my hand-drawn type? It was all the rage at the time.
I used to have lots of promise. WAY BACK. WAY BACK IN THE OLDEN DAYS.

Is it accurate to say that most awards presented to various design companies and designers are given out by their suppliers?
So when someone says "we're and award winning deign firm" what they really mean is that they buy a lot of paper from "x" and have received a lot of awards from that supplier.
- Thats How I won 4th best record sleeve ever in the world. I booked a courier.Studiospooky

This is a question I've had too. It seems like anyone with any award whatsoever, no matter how miniscule, refers to themselves as award-winning. I don't seek out awards, yet have received a few when agencies I've worked with have submitted work I'm associated with. Or little things like FWA.
That said, my award of note is a D&AD Silver from a couple years back. Does that qualify as award-winning?
- definitely does. you've earned the "award winning" title.emokid

I won a TAM award for a freelance project that I comped up very quickly. After I left that temp gig, the agency printed it on nice paper but no one went in and refined anything. The kerning and leading was all over the place since I had just done the initial and never did anything else with it. It turned out the client loved it in the initial presentation, and apparently that agency doesn't have decent typographers in-house. I found out months later I'd won the award. Go figure...

I won a press club award a few years back, me and a journalist. newspaper awards are a dime a dozen though.

I have for the past few years checked out the winners of the Webby's to see what's about... and I noticed last year that a number of the winners were in fact sponsors and judges!!!
I've also noticed that a number of other big web awards charge for receiving a certificate or award for winning! WTF?! lol
