Good Idea

I came up with a good idea just now and thought I would share. First, some background:
I am redoing my invoicing system, and I did a little qbn research for it. Lots of people suggested using word (which I currently do), and other assorted programs. The problem I have always found with that route is, it requires work to do the word solution, and the invoice doesnt look as good as if it were done in vector. Now, here comes the "bright idea part". I figured out that, I can create an invoice template in flash, with input fields and even an auto calculator. Then, once I fill it in, I can simply right click and print to a pdf. It is nice because it doesnt require opening a piece of software, all you need is flash player.
I dont know, am I crazy? Is this a good idea?

that's a fine idea. or just do it in illustrator.

Yeah, the only thing with Ilustrator is it requires opening up a program, getting the text tool, blah blah blah. This route enables you to just open a swf, fill in some fields and print it.

what's even better? have a system to save all your entries and archive them. so you can track all your invoices. you can create a data field with check boxes so once you receive the payment, you can click on 'received'. also have 'payment received year to date' and it shows sum of all payments received.
i don't have time to build it but maybe someone can. email me once you are done. thanks!

screw that, use cash only. Less questions asked.

Quickbooks Online is super affordable and really takes the hassle out of invoice management. We invoice every two weeks with it and it has taken the pain out of managing statements, balance dues, etc.
Highly recommended for the self-employed.

I use an interactive pdf form but I guess the Flash-pdf is a good option for added functionality.
