flat screen tv tax deduction

Can designers use the purchase of a flat screen tv as a tax deduction? A computer monitor is considered deductible, right? Can't most LCD tv's alternately be used at computer monitors?

Also, if you do any video, or editing it can be used as a "Presentation Device" (so quick.. get somebody to pay you $5 to show them something and you are golden!)
... we have one in our waiting area as well, where clients can relax and watch either the shoot going on, or the news..ect.

You could do this if you wanted, although I do believe it would need to be used solely for business in order to qualify. Good luck explaining that to the IRS when they knock at your door. Of course, they may never notice. Depends on how much you make, and how much you deduct...

i totally did that 2 years ago.
it's impossible for them to find out, the IRS doesn't come to your house for surprise visits. just don't call it a TV, call it a presentation monitor.
