Flight Layover

I'm flying back home tomorrow morning and I land in L.A. at noon. I then have a 3 hour layover until I fly out about 50 miles down south to Orange County. I want to skip my connecting flight and just get picked up in L.A. but I've heard there are consequences.
Just wondering if anybody has heard or experienced anything like this and has any information for me?
Thanks in advance.

consequences? like you may die if you do not take the connecting flight? or the 405 is a giant pile of stop-and-go shit?
what do you mean? and why in the hell did you book a flight that had a 3 hour layover in LAX when the OC is so close anyway? i'm really confused. i'm assuming you haven't lived there very long, or do not live there at all?
sorry to sound like an ass above, but fuck waiting 3 hours in lax for a flight to OC. that is crazy talk.

As for consequences, I meant fees of some sort. As for why I booked the flight, it was the cheapest way to go.
Sorry for not sounding like an ass above.

why would you get charged fees if you hopped off the plane in la? makes no sense. they won't/can't charge you fees if you aren't on the flight out of lax to oc.

just hop of and get a ride is what i was trying to say above.

I just spoke to a couple friends that warned me about not doing it. Just needed some confirmation. I searched on the airline's website but didn't find much help, and it's too late to call. I'll drop them a call in the AM though.

i think they just didn't want to pick you up. "DON'T DO IT! THERE WILL BE CONSEQUENCES!!" LOL.
