- why do you say that? i've used them, no problems so far...menos

- what you mean 'super locked down'?menos
- also, sometimes they steal your domain names if you do a search to see which ones are free...Jaline

joyent.com is good for ruby stuff or things that need to be load balanced
i got some stuff on eleven2.com which has been pretty good
mt is dead to me, i am moving everything away from them over the next couple months

my two penneth worth - 1and1 - used them them for a few years now - dead straight forward (unless you want to speak 1 and 1) - if your question can be answered by email they are great - but if you need a phone call answer - don't hold your breath - apart from that niggle 1and1 are good.

(mt) are decent, but don't move to their dedicated virtual servers until you know what you're doing. They're also quite a bit more pricey than others.
Anyone use Amazon S3?

I just moved to media temple and so far i am happy.
A little pricey like what jam said but well worth it, if it doesnt give me a headache like ipowerweb.
Ps. stay away from ipowerweb.
