How many of you guys design, full time on a laptop?
- Right now yes because I'm off-site. At work I'm on a Cinema display. The MBP sits off to the side.k0na_an0k
- I do. With an external monitor added to the mix.madirish

Seeking Web Designer - We are looking a professional web designer or team who would be interested in potentially participating in a MacRumors site and forum redesign. Also interested in ongoing relationship for additional projects outside of MacRumors. Ideal candidate would be a MacRumors reader(s) who is familiar with the workings of the site and forums and would be able to retain the basic feel of the site while modernizing the design. The site uses a custom Content Management System for the front page, and vBulletin for the forums, so vBulletin experience would be a plus but not necessary. Please contact us via our web form with the subject of "Web Designer Inquiry" and please include links to previous work.

The new 15" with the LED is hot shit, indeed. I love mine.

The Mac Book Pro may very well get a Penryn cpu. Their only 45nm in size which means much less heat and much less battery power. I suggest you really hold it off until mid january for the MacWorld event.
- mg330
Me too man. My PC has developed a real disdain for living, and I'm patiently waiting until Jan. 14th to a) have money in hand, and b) hopefully be greeted by new MPBs at the Macworld Expo or whatever the hell it is.
- mg330
This will be my first Mac too. My mind is already made up. It also kind of sucks that I'll be shelling out $$ for CS3, but oh well, I didn't get a hot new job for nothing! :D
Granted my PC is just suffering from old age and I've had it since 2003 when I built it, but I want a laptop and sure as hell don't want a PC laptop.

Is it just me, or have people been putting off getting the MacBook Pro since their inception, for the next update?
"I'm waiting until January."
"I'm waiting until November."I've got no beef with any of you, but...when do you people actually end up biting the bullet and buying your Mac?
- slappy0
yeah waiting until the new mac books come out too.
- mg330
brenton,
I've never had one. It would be dumb to buy one now with the well circulated rumors of new ones being released on Jan 14th.
My theory is that they will have a massive redesign/improvement to the MBP, or they will look the same but with new insides, and the big announcement will be for the 12" that has been rumored.
Either way, it would rule for them to have black metal MBPs.
- lvl_130
with everything said above in my notes to mg33, we will probably be buying a macbook shortly after february.
i've always worked with both (as i have mentioned in pretty much every mac and/or pc thread hehe) but haven't actually had a mac in the apt. for about 5 years.

Count me in on the mid-end jan MBP 15" - That's about as long as I can wait, I did the wait til leopard, wait til jan thing, That's as far as I can push it. my G4 iBook is not the easiest to work on when on the roads
