she was in my bookmarks at that time. I loved her work a lot. Look like Carson a bit.

I briefly worked with Jennifer. She is the most brilliant designer I have ever encountered, and I've been around some historic designers. It's sad that young designers have no idea who she is. She's a brilliant person. She was once named by Graphis as one of the top 12 designers in the world. She had a collection of her work secured by the SFMOMA for a show in 2001 and now is part of their permanent collection. Her typography was more refined than Carsons, and used a more classic pallet. I revere her work.
The AIGA annual was unfortunate. She created a masterpiece, which is exactly what the AIGA leadership was seeking, and then the world kind of turned on her. The creative brief called for the book itself to become an iconic symbol of the design of the era. But when award winning designers get their work turned cropped and cut, then they get pissed. Some probably felt shown up by Sterling—many complaints ensued. The bottom line is Sterling gave the AIGA what they wanted, and they really didn't take much responsibility for it. And I think that was kind of the beginning of the end.
I consider Jennifer a friend even though we have lost touch. She always treated me with fairness and in good ethos. Her design continues to inspire me.

So is she still working in design somewhere? Teaching? Flying over the cuckoo's nest?
That's interesting to know about the AIGA, sounds like a crappy situation. I don't blame her if she was thoroughly disenchanted after that.
- I don't believe she is designing. Teaching only as far as I know.Beautiful_Uggly

Jennifer is around. From what I can gather, she left design (possibly for health reasons) and went into teaching. I recently saw that her website is back, so she may be coming back to design. Without a doubt she is one of the top contemporary designers around. Her work was beautiful and revered by top designers. The icing on the cake is she is incrediblye attractive (see image in forum, read "hot"). Hope she is doing better and comes back stronger than ever. God Speed Jennifer!

<< another admirer. her work is incredible; it's refined, timeless, and utterly beautiful.

She's one of a handful designers who became famous in the 90's, yet whose work still seems relevant imho.
If she does come back to work, I really hope she doesn't launch an eponymous design magazine.
