Yo! I made this web site. It works fine in my Macs, and my wife's PC, and the PC at the library.
Why is the person I made it for not able to see it on her PC, even though she has the flash player installed?
WTF?

Help me, please. I need help with this, since I can't figure it out myself.

I just see a brown box.

Works fine on safari.
It's rough man, cant you go to her computer? (client) and check for yourself?
- Ruffian0
Patience maybe, preloader popped up only after ~30 seconds.
- ian0
maybe the client has the wrong flash player installed and is not updating it?
- Soler0
Works fine although the nav isn't obvious

Could it be your Flash Player Detection Code? It seems crazy.
- decisionman0
^ -- Yeah that is some crazy code ... I picked out this:
Major version of Flash required
var requiredMajorVersion = 8;Maybe client doesn't have 8 ... ?

Start disabling things in reverse down to the embed tag. Maybe check if there is any autoupdate stuff that could be hanging up the player. Have her right-click and verify her flash version too.

This site takes CRAZY amounts of time to load.

A sstated earlier - try to simplify your code... that is the most likely cause.
Maybe try swfObject a try (http://blog.deconcept.com/swfob...
Or maybe she has super high security settings and that is blocking the ActiveX call.
Also, it would be helpful to know what she is using - browser / version / security settings.
- Point50
yes, swfobject is a great tool. I just ran into some problems with it vs. IE, but after blog searching came across http://www.swffix.org/swfobject/… which made it all shiny, dandy and deliverable to all browsers.
...just a heads up in case you have any problems with swfobject.

I see floating Pork Rinds.

works fine here safari osx, however your work in progress section isn't aligned like the rest of them :/ aieee quick help nooooooo.

Your new.swf file is 2.8MB, which is wayyyy too big. You should create a simple shell that doesn't have all of the data embedded in it, and load the pictures in when you need them.
Check out http://kirupa.com/developer/mx/p… for help with loading external files

no worky here. pc ie 7
- flashbender0
I bet $5 it is an active X security thing. swfobject will fix it
- sureshot0
when I put the .SWF behind the initial URL is does work tho.
and yeah why did you used flash. it seems its giving you nothing but difficulties in this matter.
