i had really hoped the NT switch to QBN was going to limit the spam in one way or another.. but really it has become much worse.

The point is to talk with people and get different views on things. Even if you find someone bothersome, there are things you can learn from them, and new things they can turn you on to.
If you ignore everyone or keep them from posting without good reason, or make things "invite only" you are really limiting yourself.
Oh yeah and it becomes high school.

there are a number of people on this site who act like little kids.
useless posts, start fights and don't contribute anything. ignore would be perfect for these people.
i understand wanting to keep it open for all but there are some really losers out there

more or less.

Open community dynamics at it's best. Anyway; if you have a problem with a person - talk to them - let them know it's not appreciated, you can even send them an email if you don't want to soil the PV with the discussion.
I guess the best thing to do is lead by example: go for quality over quantity.- much rather just press "ignore" and be done with themsikma
- no second chances? I have seen good discussions by people who also act childish every now and thenneverblink
- No, there are some people who purposely start accounts to be terribly annoying. I still won't ignore anyone, but I can see why others would.Jaline

call me jaded, but i don't think spammers care if you want to discuss their behavior.

I really would like to have the ignore feature back. There's just some people who live here that irritate the hell out of me where I just don't want to read the threads on here anymore to be frank.

An automatic douchbag filter would do nicely

heres a prime example of the type of gibberish i would like to ignore
"After thinking through it there will be a lot of hate from the hetero men and some of the women because I will have impregnated Scarlett Johansson. They're think that I'll have ruined her."
does anyone see any value in these sort of posts?

In a word, no

Ignoring is for lazy posh cowards. People evolve and change. I've learned stuff here I wouldn't learn elsewhere in "real life".

Have you tried using the ignore feature built into your brain?
