Man, this is great. Finished my last day at my job of 5+ years today in legal marketing for a law firm, they had a nice going away party for me at a bar downtown, I've got a good buzz and have the next two days off.
Start my new job on Monday, new days, new opportunities, new mindset, new joy to be had.
It's a good feeling, but damn, I know I'm going to wake up in the morning thinking about the job I just left.
Every been through the same?

The fact that you haven't slit your wrists in the past 5 years working for a bunch of lawyers is reward in itself.
Drink up!
PS. Now I know why you never posted a portfolio.

MrDinky
CLP is
C = company that provides web sites, intranets, an other Web technology directly to law firms
L = Chicago and actually 2 blocks from my previous office
P = Client Specialist, which involves working directly with law firm clients and marketing departments on managing new web projects and ongoing initiatives.
I'm super excited to be much more specialized than I've been. At the law firm I was involved in so much, it's crazy: web management, web strategy, photo editing, copywriting, SEO, editing, editing, editing of pretty much all content created by attorneys, marketing, advertising, etc. etc.
Lots of hats in lots of areas.
Now I'll be so much more narrowed down, it will be a nice change of pace that I'm totally looking forward to.

congrats mg, and good luck patnah!

FU OSFA, but that is pretty funny.
For the record, I worked for good attorneys. Corporate law, real estate law, securities, litigation, employment law, asset planning, IP, stuff like that. Business law type of stuff.

All in all it's a great day - looking back I could not be going to the job I'm going to without the experience I've gained in the last 5 years.
Hell, I started working on this new job back in August and didn't have interviews until late October.
Get to wear jeans every day now (not that I had to wear a suit or anything at the law firm but couldn't wear jeans Mon-Thurs.

version3,
maybe you do, maybe you don't.
But seriously, it was all great, but the ability to concentrate was sometimes destroyed by just how insane my multitasking would get.
*sits down to work on writing and editing for 2 hours.
* 5 minutes in sent a new attorney headshot to edit in Photoshop for a publication and to post to web site.
* 10 minutes later asked to help print something
* 5 minutes later finally editing photo
* Take a 15 minute poop
* Get back to photo. Finish in 45 minutes.
* Tell someone who project ? is not done yet.
* Realize those two hours I intended to spend writing are about gone, and it's time for lunch.
And so on and so forth...
