So, apparently my girl is forcing me to go through a ten-day body cleansing detox thingy to get rid of all the "toxins" starting thursday.
I am very sceptical to this hippie stuff, but has anybody done it?
This is NOT the lemon water / cayenne pepper starvation some people do. With this one you just give up bread, fish, meat etc for fruit, vegetables, beans, nuts and so on.
Supposedly this cleansing gives you more energy... Oh well... I've been eating out every day all three meals for the past five years, if anything I will learn to master my way around the kitchen....

good for you jox, not only do you have a girlfriend but you also have enough cash to eat out all the time.
what car do you drive?
- jox0
I don't have a license.

LOL if anything, that saved me money. It includes the all-you-can-eat pizza place around the corner that I go to every day. Two EUR calzones!
- kelpie0
do you have a tough story about why you don't have a license?
// I'm only pulling your leg. good luck detoxing. You will be shitting water for the next week

My former boss at my summer job (an argentinian ex-marine) used to do it, especilly during summer (in that place you work in the shop all day long, until late evening and so you end eating very bad) and was happy with that. Used to lose some weight and felt generally better.
Good luck.
One big advantage in this is that you learn to control your hunger, and at the end you need less food to feel satisfied

I had to sell my license to be able to eat out ;)
Thanks mang, it's gonna be real interesting to be without coffee....

^ Thats true...my girlfriend has a hippie friend, did the same thing. Came extremely close to having a few accidents, I would suggest some of these...

10 day body cleansing! WTF?
I'd spend those 10-days interviewing candidates for the new role of "girlfriends that don't suck"
- detritus0
It'll open up a whole new world for you, jox.

the cayenne pepper hingmy I've done with the missus, actually felt pretty good doing it too... as long as you remember to REtox it's all good.

I did liver cleansing a week ago. Magnesium sulfate(Bitter salt) to start your shit going and then drink a glass of mixed half extra vergine olive oil half grapefruit juice.
I'm not sure it gave any results.Any cleanse/detox recipes? Anything for the health you know.

couple girls in my office did the cleansing thing. They forced themselves to eat or not eat thoroughly unappetizing food (broccoli, etc.) for about 10 days.
At the end of it all, they looked exactly the same.
I say screw dieting, eat balanced meals, exercise – and you'll be plumb to the earth.

I used to take wheat grass pills every day, they give you some nice energy.
Was eating well for a while in the past couple months but went right back to eating crap all the time during the whole "trying to get new job stress" thing.

i've fasted 3 times, the longest being 16 days. i feel energized afterward, and "lighter" i guess? it's great for breaking bad eating habits and starting your diet over from scratch.
