Jeez, Kelpie - usually when people can lucid dream they reign it in to their happy place, not willfully hold on to their terror..
...or do you just have a thing for domineering ginger overdames and edge-of-the-bed terror? Are you like skt, and like to squeeze logs out, spud-like, in bed?

They say that your problems manifest themselves within a recurring dream over the course of your life.
Most people, it's school.
Some, it's sports. My dad's version is that he's playing golf, and he's tee-ing off, but he's inside a little 5x5 ft. shed, and has to hit the ball through a little square hole about 1 foot wide, and at about eye level.
He says he's had that dream close to 20 times in his adult life. Same dream, same sequence, everything.

Is the opposite of sleep paralysis, restless leg syndrome?
Have you ever seen a puppy sleep? And their legs are still moving like they are running in a field?
People can't sleep with me unless I have actually passed out from booze, and even then there is no 100% chance that my legs will not still flail about aimlessly.
Which is the main reason I got a king sized bed, heh.

I often find myself in places that are familiar to me in the dream, but when I awake I have no idea what that place was.
I've had a recurring dream about the same apartment that goes on and on... for about the last 3 years.
There are people living there that I know very well in the dream. I have no idea who these people are when I open my eyes.
Next time I have that dream, I'm gonna' check to see if I'm the only one paying rent. I think those bastards are freeloading.

No, I never really got any about school. But I do honestly believe they tell us something more about ourselves.
I used to get really disturbing and macabre dreams when I was younger, but it never bothered me because I knew I was dreaming. I guess I liked being scared? I don't know...I just know I learn more about myself through nightmares and dreams. Could be different for others though.

I've had some pretty cool lucid dreams too, nairn, just this one really took a turn for the worse...

After 2 years of an electronics-profiled 100% male class high school I realized i didn't give a damn about how old analog TV's were built and moved on to an semi-private liberal one with emphasis on humanities and experimental status.
I traded good math and physics for more English and first Spanish high school class in town (well, that was 2 years after communism fell, there's plenty of these now). Plus flexible hours, choosing my teachers freely and the company of freaks and plenty of girls! The school sucks now I'm told, having turned into a refuge for rich high school dropouts, but back then it was great. For years my dream has been I'm back in the technical school, sitting in math class and not getting a word of what's being said. Nightmare!
But then I wake up and realize that despite having holes in my math education I'm free of these problems.
Splendid! Adult life is so easy yeah!

'Clamourous'? Where the fuck did that come from? *shakes head free of fug*
I miss lucid dreaming - was able to do it at will back at uni, but now my adult-self is too laden with complexes and neuroses to be comfortable merely lying in bed, being happy with the world.

I also have zombie attack dreams. They're kind of fun. I spend all my time arming up with shotguns and ammo but before the attack begins I wake up.

My dreams are always really random and strage. They don't make much sense, far less sense than yours seems to...

few things are as complex as zombies and school

i'm always back in high school worrying about getting from class to class without ever having picked up a schedule, i've it so many times, i know it's a dream as its occurring now

i dream a LOT about High School, why is that , I mean not college not Elem, but High School , that I always go back and finish my last semester, i graduated early could that be why, but why do I dream of it at least 5 times a week. I have been thinking about going back to College could this also be why!

I used to have a recurring dream about E.T. when I was younger.

My dreams aren't really even dreams per se, they are kind of very real and have a very real chance of happening ... to the point I don't know if I am dreaming or actually awake in the world.
Then usually something ridiculous happens and I just assume I'm dreaming, but keep it going as long as I can.
I once had a girl break up with me because I cheated on her ... in her dream.
She was a loon.

OR WAS SHE A DREAM?!
