(Nov 1 07, 05:11)you should be. those who are not are not really buying them for the quality or fit, IMO. it is an important article to own/wear/use- the choice is particular to the person.

i really like this (above) but $700 is a bit much when my current watch cost me $15 (below but green instead of blue):

wearing a watch would give me an existential crisis

im quite surprised at the results of this thread, actually...
so much talk about lack of money, expenses, designers being underpaid and ripped off and, yet all over this thread are people with panerais and rolexes and other such expensive and exquisite time pieces and 'things' (as one poster said)!
hmmmmm.... wonder what this all means...

No matter what watch I like leather strap..the metal bracelet watches always catch my arm hairs...and I like the look of a weathered leather band on a watch for that wabi sabi-ness.
- hmmm...good point about catching arm hairs. I hate that.Jaline

pam 183 and a 16610
been toying with the idea of selling and changing things up. But there are so many that I like. it's tough. Been liking a lot of the AP's and IWC's lately. And yes, watches are addictive.

"the metal bracelet watches always catch my arm hairs"
As well as the visual reminder that time is indeed passing, it's the pulling of hairs that reminds me I exist.
If I didn't wear a watch, I'd have an existential crisis.

Yeah, there's a lot of expensive watches in this thread isn't there.
I currently switch between a 10 year old Seiko Kinetic, a couple of classic clean Diesels and this ugly leaving gift from the last place I worked.
I must say, those Bell & Ross watches look sublime though. I wouldn't mind one of those, failing that I'd like an Omega one of these days.
