I need an advise.
I made a flash ecard for a Halloween party 2 years ago. It was intended only to invite friends and co-workers of a company where I was doing consulting work. It was a personalized ecard for a free event.
I left the company and don't want to be associated with them.
A couple of days ago I found out that they are using my flash ecard to promote a Halloween event that they are organizing again. They got a hold of all my source files including this card. After updating the event info on the flyer they published it online. I already found 3 sites with my card promoting their event. Only this time they charge $50 in advanced or $75 at the doors.
What can I do about that?
There is one problem though, since I made this ecard for friends and didn't intend to make any profit, I used some images that found on google images.
I really hate to see them using my work, especially making profit.

did you get paid for the work?
what you need to do right now is collect evidence just in case.
take screen shots etc
like full screenshot with date on it

Generally isn't anything you create while employed by a firm, the property of said firm? Not sure, but i thought so.
- jox0
You have the originals too?
- doesnotexist0
yes, absolutely. they own it.
did you leave source files there?

the card was not intended to generate profit.
I have the sources.

I was not contracted to develop that particular card. I made that just for myself.

It doesn't matter you worked there the work belongs to them and scondly you stole images from google, the more distance you can put between you and the flyer the better, be thankfull you haynae got your pants pulled down by google or whatever.
- chossy0
If you made it for yourself then they have stolen from you, ifhowever you made it on company time they own it.
- dopepope0
Ah, I'd let that go if I were you.

My professional relationship with them was a partnership.. that didn't work out. I was not employed by them.

Can I find the owners of the images used in the ecard and made them sue that company?

If you want to burn a bridge and get nasty, yes you could do that.

dude. you have just clearly made it known why you want to have this stopped.
you/they got burned somehow and now as a back-door move to get 'ahead' somehow, you are looking to have them punished for using your invite .fla's
in all professional and future-thinking opinion, i would let this one go. srsly.

the bridge has collapsed a while back.

sounds a bit like sour grapes to me, contacting the people you stole the images off is a bad and bitter move, like people are saying have a coke and a smile and shut the f up about it.
- madirish0
hahaha
i had a feeling this thread was not about "i never intended to profit off of this invite".... ;)
