"Whiskey lunch, anyone?"
I haven't been drinking much at all lately but I could use some tonight after all this talk about it.

I'm not a huge lover of whisky as esp the unpeated stuff - it just tastes like pure alchohol.
But i LOVE this stuff.
and im not just plugging it cos they are a client of ours :P23kon

I usually drink Jameson; neat.
However I love Powers whiskey, I have been told that if you order a Jameson in Ireland, its like ordering a Miller light.

Jameson - Irish Wiskey-
best whiskey for the money only $20 and so tasty.Middleton - Very Rary -
Made by Jameson, its $115-$150 a bottle but damn very fine stuff.Agree with the Tullamore Dew, Makers Mark.
If you go scotch side, Laphroaigh is so good. Its super earthy not clean like the highland stuff.

I prefer my whiskey to be aged into bourbon:
Wild Turkey: Rare Breed or Single Barrel
or Makers, Bookers, Knob Creek, etc.
I also like scotch. bukka, I think I had Laphroaigh a couple months ago. I got it for a buddy of mine who's a big scotch drinker. It was very earthy, that cooked moss taste.

I drink it just about every night, except when I stop drinking--then I stick with beer, wine or vodka

Makers Mark pretty much all the time with any mixed drink.
If doing shots, it's Jameson. Delicious, delicious Jameson.

Jack Daniels.
I also like the packaging.

get a glass of monkey shoulder down ye.
I'm actually serious about that it is a nice dram.

rye. neat.

Although I like Knob, it's little to bling for me. Makers with a splash of water or on the rocks bring out its sweetness and its gorgeous.

I am going to have to try Laphroaigh. I will check out the packaging while I am there to note the best ones.

Used to love Makers but now it is too sweet for me. Always loved its packaging, tho. Bulleit wins out still.
Johnny Walker has great packaging too. Pulls of edgy and classic.

You have to love the wax on Makers. I really love how the Bulliett packaging is just that odd shaped sticker slapped along the side.

I've just recently started getting into Scotch, after a friend let me try some of this:
It's delicious! Bought a bottle the very next day. It's really nice and smooth, and it's the first Scotch I've really ever been tolerable of.
I also have a bar that is about 30 yardsfrom my apartment that has the largest selection of Scotch in Chicago. It's going to be my place for winter drinking.
