Fun site, but...
If this is a game about 12th century Jerusalem and the Templars, what's up with the grainy security cam effect? And the techy triangle thing?

BORING
i played with it yesterday, and nothing there.. i was bored to death of keep pressing arrow buttons that does not do anything..
takes too long
i kept wondering, wtf is this going and why is this taking so long?
- scarabin0
the game itself is based in the future, the jerusalem stuff is part of a genetic memory in a person's mind
- scarabin0
the grainy bit is because the memories are being read on a machine in a lab, the techy triangle is part of the lab's parent company's branding
- scarabin0
it's an amazing game, i can't wait til the sequel comes out

The wait for this damn thing to load is excruciating.

A very good game. The idea is that in modern timeline you ( a retired assassin) are being tapped for your ancestor's memories. thus the ancient timeline. works nicely and keep the next version for the game open. The cities are detailed. You could spned hours just walking around in this thing.

i just posted the trailer for part 2 up there

I never understood why this game got so much attention. Sure, it looks like next-gen game but it sure doesn't *play* like a next-gen game. I mean c'mon, how many fucking buttons does a guy need to press to climb a ladder, scale a wall, unsheath a sword or perform combat manuevers? Also, the plot is laughable.
- scarabin0
you're saying the downfall of next-gen games is that you have to use more than two buttons?
- d_rek0
No, that they are mostly unplayable due to overtly clunky control schemes. Doesn't matter how good they look you're always fighting the controller for attention.
- scarabin0
the plot is way more creative than the typical "so you're a guy with a gun in the future set out to shoot things" plot every other game has...
- scarabin0
did you play games when you were a kid? i haven't heard of anyone complaining about control complexity since i used to play mario with my mom
- scarabin0
that site is awful though. closed it almost immediately.
- d_rek0
It's not the complexity of the controls its the fact that the act of controlling your character prevents you from truly immersing yourself in the game

I'm with d_rek about the controls. While I didn't mind the game, it wasn't as intuitive as I would've liked.
- d_rek0
Lets get down to the nitty gritty of it: Assassin's Creed controls like shit.
- dMullins0
Hmm, I bought the first one the day it came out. After about three days of repeating the same shit over and over again, I gave up and haven't done much except going back one night and picking up some gamer points while wasted.
And yah, the controls are garbage.
I'm sure looking forward to repeating the same tasks over and over again in a new city though! Climb building, unlock map of area, jump into hay cart, repeat, move to next city.

^ it depends on the person. i remember games like turok and james bond n64 game had shit controls, but some ppl didn't seem phased.
ffwd to today, mgs4 is fucking too hard to control, but re5 is perfect.

must be an xbox thing
i never had any trouble on the ps3
it is repetitive though, that's for sure
