----Yes and no, neighbor. Some of the core functionality is similar. The focus of the site is different (artwork + artists). In the short term, it's a place for artists who aren't web geeks (see: like us) to have a decent looking portfolio. Longer term I think they'll add some functionality that will separate the site from flickr and some of the other port sites and etc.
But for web geeks / ad geeks who know enough to make a portfolio on their own, it's more a place to plug in work that doesn't fit into your proper portfolio, maybe. Or maybe it's an inspirational tool. Or maybe it's community to be a part of which feeds your artsy-wants/needs (ie...there's some new-blood painter you never knew you liked and they live 3 blocks away and they're having a show that you'd get off on...and 2 of the people in their network make similar work that you like...or you need a photog for a new campaign your directing in 500 miles away and you want to maybe get a sense of your non-agency options in said city). I dunno...it's just starting to roll.

I haven't explored everything, but I'm bored with it.

well, was kidding about Flickr, but it really does seem similar. the great thing about flickr is its versatility; wheter you're a photographer or illustrator, you can make the site work the way you want
Jaline, check this:
http://www.behance.net/seemingly less boring. looks like a pretty decent portfolio networking site.
