What solutions have any of you used for recurring billing? In addition to PayPal I've been looking at 2C0, Billing Orchard, paymentonline. Each have there own positives and negatives. I can't even get a phone number or someone to answer my calls from the last two.

they all suck
is this international?

No, US only. I really have a feeling that you're right. I am looking at Authorize.net and WorldPay right now. I need to be able to add part of the customer info to our own database as well which reduces our options further.

WorldPay offers FuturePay for recurring billing...

I just got off the phone with World Pay. They seem to be a good option and have pretty easy integration options too. Have you used them?

does yahoo merchant have service like that?

It looks like Yahoo is partnered with DowCommerce for additional services. It looks pretty good actually.

i used to use yahoo for small merchants, they seem pretty good.
i would trust them more..
cause you can complain more..
you cant complain with paypal

Why cant you complain with PayPal? I'm not actually sure the yahoo site I found the Dow Commerce thing on was legit. It does look like a decent solution though. World Pay is kind of expensive. 2Checkout seems pretty good but there is a 5.5% + .45 cent fee per transaction. no additional merchant account is needed though.

when you are using paypal, they do not initiate to solve problems
a company that does not have toll free number with 2 hour wait time is not a good company to deal with when there is an issue.
also they out source their call center / email help so the answers you get are not so much helpful. they give you generic answers to everything.
i have lost about $1000 with them over past few years.

That's good to know. When I called PayPal the guy was very rude. When I mentioned what I read on the site he said 'Sir I do this everyday!' then hung up on me when I said I didn't want to be sent an email. The one guy that was nice doesnt return calls or emails. Their site sucks at explaining their services properly also.

indeed seed
also, if some one complains your account gets locked for min 20 days than if it goes to investigation it get locked for 45 days.

Wow, if one of your customers complains. That's rough. I have heard they are known for locking accounts. The person I am working got rejected for a Website Standards Pro account for some reason. No idea why? So has money and a solid business.

We use WorldPay for
http://www.cardesignnews.comnot sure if they are real cheap, but they offer a full servicet so we didn't need a seperate merchant account, we've always had good service, they helped solve any integration problems, multiple currencies, we have a facility to take card payment on phone etc...

I just finished this project so I thought I would post an update. The client went with Authorize.net ARB (recurring billing) since it works with their existing merchant account. Although ZenCart it has an ARB module I became frustrated with using the software. Once I tried to custom code the Authorize.net API into the site myself I found it suprisingly very easy. Starting with their code samples it took about 2 hours to integrate it smoothly into the site and customize what happens with the response data and messages. It was really easy to take the response data (name address, etc) and submit it into my own database along with the newly created subscription id and email a confirmation to the customer.
