How does Group94 do it? Do they import a large res video then overlay all the rest of the flash content on top? Im trying to figure it. Can anyone help?

its lower res video over layered
note the dots on the screen. you are disoriented from looking at pixelation

WOuldn't that just be a movie clip that fills the browser space and imports the flv?

Does it need to be a big size like 1023px by 1045px of video to feel the whole screen? Or can i take it off a 400px by 328px?
- MrD0
no the video it self is small resolution
its stretched

Yup exactly. I did the same sort of thing on this site:

Showed it to Nick Borell and he showed me the group94 site. The dots keep the lower resolution of the video from being apparent. I thought I was pretty unique until I saw we had done the same thing. You run the video at a smaller size, run an onResize listener that scales it and checks to see which side of the ratio is the smaller of the two and scale it depending on that part of the ratio. Also, make your screen effect as a png that tiles to fill, I tried using vector dots but it was killing the processor. But then yeah, just add all your other assets above the video and you're golden. :)

Hey thanks! It's a pretty funny old tv show. I still have all the DVD's...I hope FOX doesn't ask for them back. haha! :-/

it's easy - same thing as this: (these are full length old films though - for a test)
