via adants:
"Sony Europe, its agency Fallon, production company Gorgeous, and animation company Passion Pictures, assert that the wave, whale and bunnies were arrived at without reference to these artists. In the original script, the rabbits were one of many creatures to cavort around a cityscape. In fact, the location was only finalised shortly before the shoot. The final creative, led by Juan Cabral at Fallon and director Frank Budgen at Gorgeous, was chosen to champion the brand and best reflect 'colour.like.no.other'. Sony enjoys working with experienced and talented creatives and all involvement in a campaign is always credited."

Remember the bravia ad last year? the one where the balls were bouncing down the streets? that was a rip too...whoever is on the bravia advertising thing hasn't had an original idea yet.
Here is the ad, I'll look for the original in a second:

so you have to pay for inspiration now?
i don't see a fault here.
the wave pieces are all derivatives, morilla makes a point of koziks bunny, and the owner of a panoramic image wanting a slice for animating and claying up a city with rabbits? what if tuan's outfit rabbitwerks were to do the same idea only because of his enjoyment of the rabbits symbolism? how can assorted colors be associated with any one group. if anything, the gay community has a strong hold on the rainbow color scheme. nature made both rabbits and color first. bravia ads are always based around buildings (as far as i've seen) and most everyone lives in a city. so again, what's the problem? the inclusion of the statement regarding someone requesting samples, purely circumstantial.

Interesting article on inspiration, homage and outright theft.

Mickey Mouse is in free domain right now, correct? Or it's soon...
- chossy0
no because it is still used... so like that means you can't copy it or something or nothing.
- Jaline0

I remember alan fletcher saying that bad artists borrow and good artists steal.
soneone at sony shoulda had teh balls to say they borrowed inspiration from k&d.
