I'm thinking of getting one of these, has anyone got one or know what they're like? They're pretty pricey so don't wanna get duped...

i'm waiting for the silver version – defo going to buy one
- MisterBlinky0
Cheers guys, i'm going for the old skool black version!
- MrD0
i have one
but i am selling it because i got an DSLR
its good if you want something small and quick which out puts RAW
BUT
if you are gonna get it, get the Panasonic version, about $250 cheaper
- MisterBlinky0
Isn't the lens better though??
- menos0
agree with MrD. the panasonic lx-2 is the 'same' camera but way cheaper with a small hand grip. I think the only difference is the image processor which I haven't really compared. Ive used both and they seem identical to the naked eye in all aspects... both feature leica lens... oh and the black version looks much nice than silver (IMHO)
- MrD0
honestly,
i tried out both
its the same for me at least
BUT i must say, nice little black camera that says LEICA on it is so swanky.
isnt's like 400 pounds in UK?
its so much cheaper here in US.you should order it from here
actually i am selling mine in UK so i can get more bang for the buck

damn i'm totally in two minds now...i'm a bit of a photographic novice but need a camera, i'll check out the Panasonic one now, cheers guys.

if you're a bit of a novice then i'd suggest getting the panasonic. same quality and cheaper. why wast that much more when it probably on't make much difference to you? trust me, you will not be disappointed with the panasonic.
- MisterBlinky0
Lads, you've been a great help, i think the Panasonic will do me just fine, cheers for all your help, I just wish it looked as sexy as the Leica!
- MrD0
yah panasonic will do
one thing you will find is that both camera has alot of noise
make sure you make full use of manual setting when shooting black
- stewart0
I don't get it.
Someone leaves "Noise, noise, noise" in the comments on DPReview, it's a Panasonic with a Leica logo, the sample images are horrible, the price is twice a Canon compact camera and you still want to buy the D-Lux 3.Please give me one good reason why you want expecially that one. And not because it looks great or because of the leica lens.

(Oct 1 07, 08:48)the only reason i bought it is because it was the only point and shoot with manual setting and RAW output..
unless there are others
but i am selling it after noise mania
