Maybe you and your kind say words like "bomb Iran back to the stone age" jovially - but that's more often than not interpreted literally outside of America.

I mean look at the possibilities here...have him visit this giant hole in the ground..have him make some sort of political request like "let's have peace with the US" or something..then a limo pulls up, Cheney steps out, walks over to Ahmadinejad and he yells "THIS IS SPARTA!! I mean AMERICA!!!" and kicks the Persian into the pit.
Right wing America goes nuts with frothing war fever and then we bomb them.

I think it's a bad idea for this reason:
For every wacko suicide bombing terrorist over there, there's got to be a die-hard, gun-loving, patriotic SOB over here just itching to assasinate a guy like Ahmadinejad. If they think protecting our president is hard work, I couldn't imagine the security detail that would have to protect someone like him.

i did not read all the comments, but ffs, does noone get it? he's coming for the UN, and US has to except any cuntish statesman for the sake of diplomacy. If the US does not want him they should kick the UN out as well.

Surely you guys would have more to gain from this 'PR Stunt'? If he goes, it will show that, on some level, he has 'respect' for at least something of America.
If he reacts negatively, Western media, and by consequence the world's, will jump on him and coagulate resentment towards him.
Also, the slightly xenophobic-twang of 'come to our nation' is diluted by the fact that it was your country that insisted the UN be headquartered in New York - he has no choice but to come there. If you accept him in to your country it would be disingenuous to not give a state leader access to the site of this Century's single biggest news story.
The main point is - do you guys want to be childlike and play the game, or be the bigger man and let him have his moment? What are you fearful of? Christ, until the truth is re-written again, Iran had literally fuck-all to do with 9/11.

No doubt the guy is a bit shady, but...
He did not call for the destruction of Israel. He said the regime needs to go. He never said "Israel should e wiped from the map" As far as his haulocaust denail... It's as easy for him to be as misinformed as it is for our President to be misinfomed. It's a real big belief over there that the numbers of it were inflated because guess what, the US gave them 1 to 2 mil people killed because the US didn't let Jews into the country. They got their figs from us right after the war and when those numbers went up 3x, they said it was Jewish influence in American politics, which, there is.
