Hey guys...
I am creating a website for a professional photographer who requested that her site have an "image search" feature.
I have hunted high and low on the google and the internetz but the closest thing I found was this:
http://www.scriptsearch.com/cgi-…Now I wouldn't mind using that and tweaking it to meet my needs a bit but I can't even get it to run properly on my server!
I am also aware of http://gallery.menalto.com/ which includes an image search feature, but I do not want to use an entirely automated gallery application like that if I don't need to.
Any help is greatly appreciated, as I'm getting a bit desperate.

a quick fix would be to use a google custom search, but that would rely on filename and maybe alt text to pull it's keywords from, and of course it would have to be indexed before anything would show up.
other than that, anything you find is likely to be a whole gallery script, because otherwise how would you manage relationships between a table of keywords and their associated images if the process of managing the images themselves wasn't part of the script?
the premise is pretty simple, you need a tool to add modify and delete from a table of keywords, and one to add mosify delete from a table of references to an image and it's associated keyword, and then a query to search that table.
i could write it for you... for a fee :)

you could also have her manage her photos via flickr, and use the flickr api, or phpflickr, to display the images on the page and give you a search function. probably a lot of work to implement though

Thanks for the help acescene.
I have thought about using flickr as a photo management CMS, but I can only do it if the solution makes the flickr integration invisible... Meaning you would never leave her site to go to a flickr page when you search for an image, click to enlarge an image etc...
If you know of something that will do that I'd love to hear about it.
I will email you about getting a quote to write a custom script.
