I would stay, get the pay, and then do a shit on someone desk. :)

geez this thread seems to have been happening to a lot of designers on NT lately.

Companies don't get rid of good employees for no reason so I'm sure their reasons for wanting to get rid of you are just.

Probably better to quit before they fire you right?

I think the same thing was happening to me so I gave my notice of resignation before I could be fired. I figured it's better to leave on good terms or at least look like you did. And it looks like I'm going to land a better job in the end. Hopefully you will too.

I couldn't stand going to a place where there was a bad vibe going around. Just find something else and hand in your leave.

wait for them to fire you and if they never did any employee reviews then you can sue them for wrongful termination.

depends on what state you live in.

That sounds so, heated.

i'm wondering if they said it as a joke. but then i was thinking about where that's coming from.
i do agree on leaving before they fire me or at least be prepared.
- mrdobolina0
put in two months notice.
- ukit0
Man that's a fucked up joke if it is one. Might as well find a new job anyway, who wants to work somewhere where you constantly have to watch your back?
- vwsung18t0
i wonder if i can do that. put in like a year's notice. they can't fire me that way and i'll have nothing to worry about.
"man i wanna fire that guy but he's leaving anyway so i can't do anything about it"
- mrdobolina0
2 months notice. Tell them you are taking a long trip in 2 months and dont wanna put them out. seriously best way to give you a non-bridge-burning out and tons of time to figure it out.
genius, and they wont fire you. they can replace you or whatever, who gives a shit.

sung, in my end of the businees when a designer "says here is my 2 weeks" they are instantly walked to the door.
only if they are in crunch time and there is a deadline maybe that designer would be kept, but you are already saying not only do they want you out they already have not 1 but 2 people to replace you.
so better be prepared to have some new gig lined up just incase they do walk you to the door.
- mrdobolina0
they do that at my job with ad sales types. but our design department never does that, I work in an entirely different industry than both of you tho.
- edd-e0
in fashion the designers come and go and come back too...
so even if a bridge is burnt it is quicky remade the next day and no hard feelings either way.
sung maybe invest in a good pair of knee pads...

Just start looking, I would hold on the two week notice unless you are positive they will not walk you outside. Remember, your are more tempting / promising as a new hire elsewhere while you HAVE a job, so use it to your advantage. Most interviews / phone or otherwise, wont happen for 2 weeks after you send something in regardless, and the impression has already been made at that point, so I say wait till you have at least sent out some stuff and heard initial things back. That way you don't have to talk about how you "have decided it's time to move on" or explain your being let go in your initial conversations, instead it's all "here is what i can do for you", "here is my experience".
