Just start looking, I would hold on the two week notice unless you are positive they will not walk you outside. Remember, your are more tempting / promising as a new hire elsewhere while you HAVE a job, so use it to your advantage. Most interviews / phone or otherwise, wont happen for 2 weeks after you send something in regardless, and the impression has already been made at that point, so I say wait till you have at least sent out some stuff and heard initial things back. That way you don't have to talk about how you "have decided it's time to move on" or explain your being let go in your initial conversations, instead it's all "here is what i can do for you", "here is my experience".
