I grew up in the late 80's and early 90's and always thought Zach was a sweet name.
I guess I'm alright with Brandon though..

I like my name because it's hard to find people in North America with it.
I've always been a fan of unique (not stupid, like Inspektor Pilot) names, and I plan on naming any kids I may have with unpopular names.

As for the childhood question, I just remember every single person pronouncing my name incorrectly. Not that it was their fault or anything, since my parents didn't know English grammar rules well when they first moved here. I could always spell my name the correct way, but that'd take the fun out of every first meeting ;)

I hated my name as a kid, and continued to hate it until I started putting my middle initial when I started writing it out.

^ nice last name.

I hate my first name - it's Allen. It doesn't fit me. It's like for a white guy, and I'm not very white. If I meet someone new and introduce myself as Allen, five minutes later they'll call me Anthony - it happens all the time, and I don't mind Anthony, so I don't even bother to correct them.
I love the name Jaline... But probably in the way most people mispronounce it. I may name my kid that. Or Anna.

haah.. i pronounce it Jay-Leen. And then you can pronounce it in a "european" way - Jah-Leen, where the "J" isn't so hard...Like the J in Jacques Cousteau. It's a nice name.

I liked my name (Ronald) but there were plenty of ways to make fun of it as a kid. Now Ron as a 30 year old doesn't seem so bad. Nost people call me don or jon though, cause there aren't that many younger Rons around.

I wanted to be called "Florian" when i was a kid...glad that didn't happen in retrospect.
My girlfriend wanted to be called "Tulip" or "Bugle".
This is why kids shouldn't be allowed to pick their names.

(Sep 16 07, 10:31)Thanks. It's supposed to be pronounced in a certain way (with a "y" in the beginning) but my parents thought the letter "j" brought more luck so they used it instead (it's a religious thing). Anyway, I like the letter "j", so it's cool. The way it is supposed to be pronounced sounds very hick-ish, so I accept "juh-lee-knee" for everyone outside of my family, and "jay-leen" for people who don't know me personally or too well.
I don't mind any of them.

first: as interesting as vanilla.
last: pretty cool.

that whole Arrested Development joke makes your name super cool, Brian ;)

MAX POWER!!!
Max Power, he's the man who's name you'd love to touch! But you mustn't touch!
His name sounds good in your ear, but when you say it, you mustn't fear!
'Cause his name can be said by anyone!
