I know this isn't a DIY board but thought I would ask if anyone has layed a PVA floor. i.e Concrete with PVA over the top and thats it

do you mean a laminate flooring, such as pergo or wilsonart?
these types of floors utilize a "float" system, where all pieces are connected to each other, but not attached solidly to the subfloor. they typically have a thin foam underlayment to cushion the new flooring over the subfloor. i would think a concrete slab would be just fine.
pretty straight-forward job; good results; and super durable.
(loses the beauty contest to hardwood flooring.)

No. I mean having a concrete floor and covering it in PVA (like glue) so it has a glossy almost rubbery finish... i think

isn't PVA a glue?

A friend of mine owns a bathroom shop. He had polished concrete floors, not sure if it was PVA but some sort of resin. It was applied by a specialized company that do warehouses etc, using a small forklift type of thing to apply it evenly.
Is it for your gaf, D?
I love concrete.

there is a special diy floor paint but leveling properties are dubious and it's hard to apply evenly. it's good for garages and warehouses but not so sure about a room.

After a weekend of doing the garage floor, I'm pretty damn awesome when it comes to laying tiles.
But that doesn't help you of course. I just wanted to brag about my tiling skills.

Yeah found that link Ruffian – that's the kinda thing but not is the US (I need to keep costs down)
For my kitchen yes, have tiled the rest of the house and want something less time consuming and more cost effective. Have looked into poliching but as it is a small room I dunno if they would travel
