    do you mean a laminate flooring, such as pergo or wilsonart?

    these types of floors utilize a "float" system, where all pieces are connected to each other, but not attached solidly to the subfloor. they typically have a thin foam underlayment to cushion the new flooring over the subfloor. i would think a concrete slab would be just fine.

    pretty straight-forward job; good results; and super durable.

    (loses the beauty contest to hardwood flooring.)
