I enjoy folk/traditional music a lot and have a bit of a collection from W Europe (mostly old odd vinyl's in very bad shape). Apart from some tunes from my own country (which likely will interest no one in this board), if I had to select three or four all-time faves from, say the British Isles, I'd have to go with "Lord Franklin" (Pentangle, "Cruel Sister", 1970); "Johnny Cope" (Planxty, "Cold Blow and the Rainy Night", 1974), "Old man horse" (The Albion Band, 197?) and the uncanny electric-folk of "Two Magicians" (Steeleye Span, "Now we are six" 1974).
Also if you like folk music - there's a record from the Faroe Islands which is absolutely beautiful (vocals only) but unfortunately it hasn't been publish in CD afaik - I don't even know what record it is since I have it in old "bobine" (http://pt.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bo... that my father caught from the radio.
- correction: it's "Poor Old Horse" (Albion Band, "Rise Up Like The Sun", 1974)********
- link broken for "bobine": here it is http://pt.wikipedia.…********
