There are rumours that Emery will be traded soon.
Especially because he's been coming late to practice and actually admitted in an interview that he's not pushing himself much (on purpose). It's weird. There are only so many times you can say "sorry" for delaying practices.
I don't know if I'm willing to just stick with Gerber though. If they do trade Emery, they better have a backup plan in case he goes through one of his sucky periods.

I'm incredibly surprised that the NHL is getting any coverage on ESPN about it, and even the sportscasters were saying it was the best sporting event of all of yesterday despite the fact January 01st is usually the big College Bowl Football Experience.
... Probably won't matter much. ESPN has it in for the NHL, so this will probably be the last we hear of it until the Playoffs, heh.

flavorful, the same thing happened to me today! I was trying to access it but it kept saying that it timed out or couldn't load. It never said anything about being blocked though, which is weird. Maybe it's a QBN problem. But yeah, I was seriously thinking about what the hell I am going to do now...

Detroit already has 3 players in the starting lineup (which means they may flow nicely automatically). I want the Eastern Conference to win, but it will be a very tough match. What do you guys think about captains? If we are just judging by the first lineups, I think it should be Alfredsson versus Lidstrom (they are captains on their own teams as well, and are being coached by their own coaches in the All-Star game). The two older guys. I always wondered why goalies are not captains...

I think Goalies aren't Captains due to the fact if a dispute happens across the rink they are going to waste a lot of energy talking to the refs about it.
Alfredsson would be the ideal choice, though I'd like Iginla to get it on the other end (which won't happen).
A lot of non-hockey fans will wonder why Crosby isn't the Captain I bet - and I sure fucking hope they don't make him Captain to appease the random fan because that will get him some unwarranted, and unasked for heat from other players I'd imagine.

Luongo is not going to be participating in the All-Star game due to his wife being pregnant and he wants to spend time with her or something. Sucks for the Western Conference. I think they will have Pascal Leclaire, who was second in votes. He may not have the advantage that Brodeur has, but Leclaire has the most shutouts (or is tied, I can't remember), so that may be important when it comes to going against high-scorers.
