I'm by no means a lighting pro either, but I bought a few of those Impact floods. Throw on some soft boxes, and they work fine. Depends on your use. For simple easy stuff, should be a snap.

i am gonna use it for close up product shots and also full body shot with white background
not sure if should get the box or just directional.. they say they both floods
on sets, most of the times, i have used boxes... but never used directional except strobes..

How does florescent lighting like that impact color balance?
I"m just curious. I had always used tungsten(?) lights in my photo classes in college... do the bulbs have special filtering on them to change that green/yellow cast, or would you deal with that on your own?

"How does florescent lighting like that impact color balance?"
throws a lot of blue in the light captured. it can be fixed pretty easily, but uneeded if using tungsten like you said.
