Reminds me a bit of Nip/Tuck. Maybe not surreal, Nip/Tuck Light then. Can't wait for the new season to start. Californication will do meanwhile I'm waiting.

I agree 1-UP. Nip/Tuck rules over this show. But Californication isn't bad. I watched about 4 episodes and it's pretty good. I thought Duchovny would be extra annoying but he's actually likable after a while.

Im a bit unsure about Duchovny for this role...
David Duchovny is a bit too old to be doing this... should be someone slightly younger and doesnt have the stigma of other tv series (x files) attached to them.someone a little less well known maybe?

^ I thought that too, but he's not bad as an actor. I just don't consider him to be attractive, which sucks since that's an integral part of his personality in the show (as in: that's supposedly why many women / girls fall for him). He's just seen as the bad boy, I guess. This does fit his career though, as he has been in some explicit projects in the past.
I'm unsure about the last scene of the finale too.
I guess we'll see...

Duchovny is the show imo. The story is kind of lame, lots of sex plus current pop topics plus California setting plus cameos (Rollins, Brooke Banner) over a storybase stolen (again!) from Dream On http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0098…
Dialogues are good and Duchovny is believable as a smart ass slacker.
Don't forget Duchovny is a Princeton/Yale graduate with an unfinished Ph.D. with "Magic and Technology in Contemporary Poetry and Prose" thesis.
I bet he wanted to be a post-hippie writer in his school years and feels just right in the role.

Also, I don't see the x-files at all in this series, it's even kind of self ironic of him. Doesn't "one hit wonder" relate to his stagnation after x-files? A guy who moved from NY to CA?.. Come on..

The last episode was pretty good and fitting. I imagine that's the end of the series.

they've just regurgitated the same story over and over in every season. hank and his wife start out good, it goes wrong, then he's running back to try again.
i've still been watching though, 'cause it's mildly entertaining and better than a lot of other tv. but the last season was pretty bad. that ginger cunt. fuck. if they have any interest in their show next season should do something drastically different, or it's over i think. if not for the show, then for me as a viewer.

RHCP are one of the worst bands in history. Im pretty sure their "singer" is not even really a singer at all. Such douchebags anyway. Im not surprised at all about this.
