Hi all – Illustrator question.
I have an 'O' shape and I want to make a gradient that goes ROUND the direction of the shape rather than through it.....round a corner if you will.
Anyone got any thoughts on how this can happen?
Cheers

you can expand the stroke and use ther gradient mesh tool and create the look you want. for an example on how to do this use the Gradient Pepper Mesh Tourtorial from NT's very own lifeinvector.

or just expand the stroke and drop a gradient in it and make the edges darker and the middle lighter.

What about using a radial gradient to fill a circle, then make another circle over top and inside the first one. The use the pathfinder pallet to knock out the center... Make sense?

I had to do this recently:
1. draw boxes for the colours you want in your gradient.
2. make a blend between those boxes
3. expand the blend
4. drag the expanded blend into your brushed pallette
5. make it an 'art brush'
6. draw a circle and apply your new brush to itjob done

That worked a beautifully BaskerviIle.
