just checked your links in the other thread and...
i'm just checking... do you remember that awesome series of 50 minutes films about checz/polish/russian traditional fairy tales done in the late 80's? it was so beautiful. i sure would like to see them again.
In fact there should be a site about it. I bet I wasn't the only one to grow up upon those stories...

I don't know the 50min series Witt, but will post a few of the films I remember. There was quite a lot in the Eastern Block. I remember being surprised when my German friend bought a Bolek&Lolek DVD when visiting in Poland, I didn't realize it was big in East Germany when we were kids.

Nothing beats Pa&Mat aka A Je To, Czech neighbours who are DIY experts:
this one is worth looking up on torrents, cause most of youtube ones have strange dubbing (they were mute originally)
Later Pat&Mat series don't always end in total demolition which eventually killed the film

you know, after '75 we had an animation program runned by a very nice man (called Vasco Granja) where he showed all the new work from the east and also the wonderful work from the west (we called him the Ana Barba - that was a pun between Hanna Barbra and the Communist Party. At the time all communists had a beard ("a barba"). So he was just Ana Bar ba. Most of the people now on it's 30's owe a lot to that man.
