Greetings comic book aficionados. I was in a comic store with a friend the other day and it looks like there's some pretty cool stuff out there. Trouble is I have no idea whats what and whats good. My comic experience is limited to:
Spawn 1-15
Weapon X
Johnny the Homicidal Maniac
V for Vendetta
and the adaptation of NeverwhereI'm more into art than story but a good story would be awesome too. What should I check out?

What "adaptation" of Neverwhere?
I read that book and it was awesome, one of my favorites in recent years.
Are you thinking of The Sandman?

(Aug 20 07, 14:32)Nope, there was actually an adaptation. NW is one of my fav books, read it twice and the comics didn't disappoint.

Thanks ninja. I was looking on Gaiman's web site and there's nothing on there about a comic for that book.

Runaways is quite good. Joss Whedon is writing it (for now).
I think I recommended this to someone else here not so long ago:
Planetary

Criminal

I've been a Kabuki fan for years and was drawn to it because of the artwork. Fortunately, the story lines are amazing also.
Also, because I have to pimp my friend, Dan Brereton's artwork is also incredible.
