Forgetting yesterday's thread on the same topic...
http://www.apple.com/pro/profile…
I thought this was a really good read actually. I didn't know he had a site up to sort of explain how he does all the generative artwork, but the examples are cool, makes me wish I were using Flash as much as I used to (more like at all).

Interesting how he says he uses the Mac Mini for this stuff. I'm really curious about the actual load of those flash files on the Mini and how that compares to, say, a huge PS file on a PC.

Mini has technically the same hardware as macbook, the difference being you can upgrade mini processor up to 2.33 GHz Core2Duo

i'm just looking to start a fight or hijack a thread. :)

Yes. But the article is well worth talking about.

Y'know, I did always wonder how he got the artwork into Illustrator from Flash.
Now, I just feel stupid for not thinking of something that simple.

I like the style of the prints. The ones where you can tell that the effect/repeating is really only achieved by the computer are the best IMO. I'd just like to see this stuff cross back over into the interactive world. Maybe an installation or something.

nice equipment list.

It would be cool to see that through a projector on a huge surface, like the side of the buidling. Take what those digital graffiti guys were doing and press the "more awesome" button.

I found the Mac Mini part to be interesting as well.

It's strange... the Mac mini specs are similar to the PC I'm planning on building that will also be a Core 2 chip.
Does anyone here have one?
I remember people saying they weren't going to be good for design programs. Any thoughts?

I found the part where he gets paid by Apple to rip on PCs interesting as well.

I found that part extremely interesting too :DHAHAHA, and if someone is daft enough to conclude that Macs are better than PCs or vice-versa after reading an article on the internet then give those marketing geniuses a bonus!
*wishes I went into marketing :(

He didn't rip he stuck to the facts.

I am absolutely stupid when it comes to AS, so after poking around in there, my fucking mind is blow'd :|

"I take that image and run it through this program I’ve created, and say, ”Okay, extract the top 16 colors.” So now I have a range of colors extracted out of the image that I blended. The most complex color set I’ve done was 74 colors, and the average is 32. And that’s where I get all my colors.

6 years ago I took his workshop. It completely changed my life. Not just with flash, but with way of thinking about art and design.
On top of all the tech stuff, he is incredibly passionate and extremely sincere.

So where is the person who usually e-mails him whenever there's a thread about him?
